Trainee Door Engineer

Role: Trainee Door Engineer (Roller / Shutter Systems)
Location: Bedford – Milton Keynes Corridor (Nationwide Travel Required)

Our client, a long-established specialist contractor is offering an opportunity for a Trainee Door Engineer to join its team and develop a long-term career within the industry.

This role is ideal for someone practical, reliable, and keen to learn a skilled trade, working alongside experienced engineers on a wide range of installation and maintenance projects.

The Role:

• Assisting with installation and repair of roller shutters and door systems
• Learning on-site skills including measuring, cutting, drilling, and assembly
• Supporting senior engineers on projects nationwide
• Developing towards full qualification and independent working

Training & Development:

• Opportunity to complete NVQ and achieve CSCS Blue Card (Skilled Worker)
• Structured on-the-job training with experienced engineers

Requirements:

• Aged 24+ (due to insurance requirements for company vehicles)
• Full UK driving licence (or working towards it)
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
• Good attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn
• Ability to work early mornings, nights, and occasional overnight stays
• Must pass security clearance (5-year traceable history and clean record)

Working Hours & Benefits:

• Core hours: Monday–Friday, 08:30–18:00
• Overtime available with enhanced pay
• 28 days holiday (including bank holidays) + Christmas shutdown
