Food Production Operative
We are seeking a dedicated Food Production Operative to join manufacturing team in Bedford. This role involves working within a fast-paced food production environment, ensuring that all products meet strict safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining efficient production processes while adhering to food safety regulations and hygiene protocols. Monday – Friday 07:45 – 17:00 with option for overtime when busy
Pay rate £12.71ph
Key Responsibilities
- Operate on production lines preparing and packing food products
- Accurately pack, label, and check products to meet company and customer specifications
- Work in chilled and freezer environments as required
- Follow strict food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures
- Conduct basic quality checks and report any defects or issues
- Maintain a clean and organised working area in line with hygiene standards
- Assist with stock rotation and materials handling
- Work as part of a team to meet daily production targets
- Adhere to company policies, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements
Working Conditions
- Exposure to chilled (0–5°C) and freezer environments (up to -18°C)
- Standing for extended periods
- Repetitive tasks and manual handling
